I bought my first Bound by Bond-Eye bathing suit two summers ago and have never looked back. This brand is ultra comfortable, flattering and classic.
If you’ve ever looked at your swimwear collection and questioned what you were thinking (like me), fear not. Swimwear trends turn over VERY quickly. Bond-Eye suits will always be in style. Their original crinkle fabric fits most sizes and molds to your body. Their silhouettes are simple, keeping that classic vibe that will suit you for years to come.
I’ve tried on just about every top, bottom and one-piece Bond-Eye makes. Here is my honest review and favorite styles.
For reference, I normally wear a size small in swimwear tops and bottoms. I have a long torso, small bust and big hips/booty (pear shaped).
Bond-Eye suits are all ONE SIZE and each style comes in at least 5 colors.
The Winners
The Pablo/Margarita combo (sexy) and the Savannah/Sydney combo (practical) are my go-to’s.
Bottoms
(from least amount of coverage to full coverage)
The Sinner – these bottoms are tiny. Extremely low cut with a thong back. If you want to rock them, more power to you. For me, they offered wayyyy too little coverage.
The Scene – these have a little more coverage in the back than the Sinner, but are still quite small. The front isn’t as v-shaped either, which gives you more coverage and means you can wear them pulled up on your hip bones, or lay the waist flat across. Note, they don’t come up much higher than your pubic bone.
The Pablo – for me, these are the most flattering and versatile of Bond-Eye’s lowest coverage bottoms. Your booty is mostly covered. While they are low cut (not much higher than your pubic bone), the side ties allow you to manipulate how tight across your hips you want to wear them. The ties also visually break up the coverage on your hips, which I found to be flattering (even though I’m pear shaped). I own these.
The Savannah – these are my favorite Bond-Eye bottoms. The one-inch waistband holds your tummy in very well. They are cheeky enough to be sexy, but not so cheeky that you have to save them for adults-only pool time. I own these and wear them when swimming with my 4-year old.
The Palmer – these offer the most coverage in Bond-Eye’s line-up. High-waisted; full coverage back. I dislike them. There is no compression in the stomach. I felt like I was wearing a large pair of very unflattering underwear.
Tops
The Scout – This is your basic 80s style sports bra top. Neither the straps nor bust are adjustable. It will fit A – DD. I own this and think it’s a perfect fit.
The Selena – The tiny shoulder straps are fine for small busted women, but do not provide much support for larger busts. That said, it’s a really cute top and can be tied multiple ways.
The Margarita – This is a beautiful, interesting top that can be worn bandeau, criss-cross or halter. I love the styling opportunities. It’s best for A – C cups. I own this.
The Nino – this can be worn with the cutouts on the sides or on the front/back. I like this styling versatility, but prefer the Scout over the Nino.
The Samira – another convertible top, you can wear it one-shoulder or halter. I prefer it worn one-shoulder. It’s not my favorite top, but if you like the asymmetrical look, this top is for you.
The Sydney – This is probably the most universally flattering and versatile top Bond-Eye makes. The full coverage front and racerback make it great for playing sports and swimming with little ones. I own this.
The Carmen – This halter top looks so flattering, but I found the fit to be very problematic. It was too tight around my neck and didn’t drape/stay in place around the bust.
One Piece
The Mara – This is your classic scoop neck one-piece with a low back and high cut legs. I found it to be very flattering. If you have a long torso you may find yourself pulling up the top because of the scoop neck.
