Denim Review: AGOLDE Jamie Jeans

July 13, 2020

AGOLDE Jamie Jeans AGOLDE Jamie JeansTop // Jeans // Shoes // Sunglasses

I recently did a closet clean-out specifically for my denim.  Jeans are very cyclical for me.  Sometimes I’m feeling wide leg jeans, other times vintage, and occasionally, the tried and true skinny.  I kept hearing about these and knew they’d be the perfect pair of “everyday jeans”.

When I first started In Spades I wrote a post about my top 5 favorite denim brands.  Stay tuned for an updated post!

A brand I’ve been wearing consistently for the past couple of years is AGOLDE.  I love them because the majority of their styles are 100% cotton, giving you that vintage denim vibe.  I’m really over super stretchy skinny jeans, although I do think they still have their place in our closets (especially if you’re a mom).

I own three styles of AGOLDE jeans and have tried on countless others.  The hard part about the brand offering so many options is that every style runs differently.  Finding your size can be really tough.

This pair is one of AGOLDE’s most popular (and misunderstood) styles.  If you read the reviews, most will say that you have to have a beanstalk body (no curves) in order for these jeans to look good on you.

I beg to differ.

I have a small waist and big hips/butt, and LOVE these jeans.  They are super comfortable and (I think) very flattering.

Sizing

I’m normally a 25 or 26 in jeans.

I got a 26 and am glad I did.  They do stretch, but not to the point where you have to wash them to get them to regain their shape.  I probably could have gone with a 25, but I wanted them to be comfy straight out of the box.  The awkward breaking in phase is my least favorite part about being a denim lover.

My hips and butt fit great in them and the waist does not bag out.  The non-stretch cotton is so timeless.

Wash

AGOLDE does such a great job with their washes.  It’s one of the reasons I love the brand so much.  They all look vintage.  None of that fakey whiskering/fading thing a lot of other jeans have.

I love this light wash pair and think this wash looks so 90s rad.

Verdict

These are a great pick for a flattering, comfortable, everyday jean.

If you’ve heard reviews about AGOLDE’s Jamie jeans, trust me when I say, they are totally worth it.  I’d stick to your true size or size up one if you are sometimes in between sizes.

They have a button fly with a high enough rise to hold you in but not be too high (I love an 11 or 12 inch rise, but not for an everyday/hero pair of jeans).
