I love black and tan as a color combo, especially in winter. There’s something a little equestrian about it, which radiates confidence and sophistication. It’s not often I get to break out my winter-wear, so it’s a celebration of sorts when I can don my long leather gloves, cashmere scarf and wool coat. Nevermind that I chose to wear them at the beach. A California girl at heart…
Blue Ivy
Sometimes, for one reason or another, we do a shoot that never ends up on the blog. At the time, I thought this particular shoot was a little too basic, but at second glance I actually love it. The simple styling of cable knit, ankle boots and a pencil skirt represent the everyday pieces that can be found in any woman’s closet. Each pieces is totally interchangeable and the pops of color in the skirt and boots and the jeweled neckline of the sweater, make for little twists on their fundamental nature. Keep it simple.
The Perfect Staple
This ensemble is one of those outfits that is quite simple yet combines some very special pieces. The perfect handbag can be tricky. I tend to fall in love with one and then only bring it out on special occasions for fear of something happening to it. Isn’t it funny how sometimes our favorite pieces are the ones we try to protect instead of celebrate? Not so with this one. The classic black is perfectly understated yet has enough detail to stand out from the crowd, and the Saffiano leather makes it super durable. I love it paired with these sleek loafers and gorgeous, delicate choker.
Wrapped Up
This time of year tends to shift into overdrive, so I like to have a go-to comfy outfit for running errands and last minute holiday shopping. This poncho-cardigan hybrid is great for keeping warm without overheating when I’m running from A to B. And despite the heel, these boots are amazingly comfortable thanks to the cushy, memory foam sole. An added bonus? It’s a great put together look for when I inevitably run into someone I know and end up sitting down for an impromptu coffee. Sure beats running errands in yoga clothes. 🙂
Alexander Wang X H&M
A couple weeks after the Alexander Wang x H&M collection has launched and I’m still as enamored with this dress as the first time I saw it previewed months ago. It’s crazy mesh cutouts are truly something to behold. Part prize fighter, part understated elegance, only Alexander Wang could combine two totally different personas to create a perfectly harmonious silhouette. I love him, I love him, I love him and where he goes I’ll follow…
