I have a thing for long leather coats. They remind me of David Bowie in the 80s or Trinity from The Matrix, both of which are excellent style aspirations. While taking a break in between New York Fashion Week shows, I happened upon this buttery concoction after a pizza break in Soho. The large pockets, sharp pointed collar and extra long belt stole my heart. It has a 70s feel and when paired with aviator sunglasses and a suede skirt I can’t help but feel like I time traveled back to the decade. Quite a find indeed.

After a perfect, crisp autumn weekend in Chicago, I’m super excited to start breaking out my sweaters. This turtleneck is a favorite from Madewell last season, and I paired it with their extremely popular flare leg jeans. The rise is so flattering and I love the lighter wash. It’s no wonder they can’t keep them on the shelves. Autumn is also a great time to start breaking out my darker shades of lipstick and while I’m normally terrible at picking colors, I hit the jackpot with this shade from Nars. A deep plum that doesn’t lean too cool or too warm, it looks great on any skin tone. Now I just need the temperatures to start dropping.

While I’m not a huge fan of 70’s silhouettes, I love a good pair of flare leg jeans. I’ve already started stocking up my collection and will definitely be wearing a lot of flares this fall and winter. Paired with a pointed toe they look so polished while also being fun. The wash on this pair is the perfect railroad conductor blue, and I love the way it looks with the same color scheme and a bold red lip.

If you follow me on Instagram you know my obsession with denim runs deep. Earlier this year I discovered AMO Denim and haven’t been able to stay away. Before we left for NYFW I picked up this pair and have been wearing them ever since. High waisted, light distressing and the best faded wash, they look great barefoot and undone or dressed up in heels. Most jeans nowdays kind of feel like you’re wearing a thick pair of yoga pants. These feel real. Authentic. Like denim is meant to feel. And they just get better and better the more you wear them.
Call me a traitor to my home state, but I am seriously over the summer weather. Thankfully, this past weekend we had the first inkling of fall. I was so excited to break out this amazing wool coat I picked up in London. Perfect for California, it’s made from the highest quality wool and has that paper bag, cocoon silhouette I love. Paired with probably my favorite boots of all time, it all felt very chic London to me. Goal achieved.
